Definitely a must see for all fans of ‘the little sparrow’. For the rest of us, this is a compelling film for its passion, the rags-to-riches-and-back-to-rags again storyline and the soaring music. Personally, I thought the disjointed plot worked well, reflecting Piaf’s fractured existence. However, it does make the timeline of Piaf’s life rather difficult to follow. One moment she’s in a wheelchair, the next she’s a little girl again.

Ignore what the critics say about this film - it’s fantastic! Some of the subject matter is pretty uncomfortable but from the first few minutes I was hooked, always trying to guess (but failing!) what would happen next.

I bloody love The Wire! It’s amazing! I’m on Series 2 at the moment, and love how they’ve contineud the story from the first series, yet shifted emphasis away from the porjects, focusing on a different area of the city.

I can’t speak for all of it yet, cos I’m only about halfway thru series two, but I get the impression based on other reveiws on the internet that it slowly builds up a picture of Baltimore.

I also have a little crush on Dominic West - Detective Jimmy McNulty could come round my roadside diner for a couple of fried eggs any time he wants!

Yeah if they made it into a trilogy, as seems to be the trend these days, then it would be epic fail.

Not that I don’t think that Daniel Craig should play Bond again, I just think it would be good if they wrapped things up with Quantum and then started fresh again with a new story.

It does sound like a Marylin Manson song! I agree, it’s the worst Bond theme since Die Another Day.
